MINDFULNESS-TRAINING

Mindfulness has its roots in Buddhism and, through Jon Kabat-Zinn's MBSR (Mindfulness-based Stress reduction), has been woven together with our Western medical knowledge. Extensive research has been done in the United States and the UK, which shows good results in stress problems and illnesses.


Mindfulness is about being present. Here and now. Often we are occupied by what has been and plans for the future and is not present now. The autopilot in us is pulling away and we are acting without being aware and in contact with ourselves. Many of us have lost touch with our body and live more in the head and do not perceive the body's signals. When you ask us how we feel, we answer that it is a lot now. When asked how something feels, we answer that it is a hassle.

 

In mindfulness we train to be in the body and get more intimate contact with ourselves. To actually discover that the body sends signals that we learned to disregard. The reasons for this can be many but the power is with us to take back control of our mood. Via the breath that is always concrete here and now, is one of the ways to this.


The training in mindfulness can be likened to all other training, but here it´s the brain we train. The research shows that stress decreases, and we also recover faster from stress, sleep improves, our ability to focus and our ability to experience joy and pleasure increases. When we get closer to ourselves in this way, we become more authentic, thereby strengthening our self-esteem and trust to ourselves and to our surroundings.


When you are coached in mindfulness, you get to train to notice pleasant emotions as well as coping with stress, fear, sadness and difficult feelings as shame by meeting and permitting what is, as best we can. Loving kindness and compassion go hand in hand with mindfulness.


Mindfulness is an approach to life and an effective way of approaching stress, pain and life's challenges.

Träningen i mindfulness kan liknas vid all annan träning, men här är det hjärnan vi tränar. Forskningen visar att stress minskar, och vi återhämtar oss också snabbare från stress, sömnen förbättras, vår förmåga till fokus och vår förmåga att uppleva glädje och njutning ökar. När vi på detta sätt kommer närmare oss själva, blir vi mer autentiska, och därmed stärks vår självkänsla och tillit.


När du coachas i mindfulness får du träna på att lägga märke till behagliga känslor liksom att hantera stress, rädsla, sorg och svåra känslor som skam genom att möta och tillåta det som är, så gott vi kan. Kärleksfull vänlighet och medkänsla går hand i hand med mindfulness.


Mindfulness är ett förhållningssätt till livet och ett verkningsfullt sätt att förhålla sig till stress, smärta och livets utmaningar.
